TMH works with the Navy

In July 2020, in the midst of COVID the NZ Navy and TMH came together to get much needed medical equipment up to Tonga where it could be used in the Vaiola Hospital.

It needed to be a non-contact delivery, so the challenge was, how to get it across to the port, without actually having anyone enter the port from the ship.

Fortunately the HMNZN Manawanui was heading up to the Pacific to take part in the international RIMPAC exercise. They used this opportunity to get the container on board, and delivered, thanks to the on board crane, across to the port without anyone having to set foot on the wharf at all. Truly inspirational and brilliant problem solving all round.
